The International Congress of Benedictine Oblates is overseen by the Abbot Primate of the Benedictine Confederation, Abbot Primate Gregory Polan OSB.
What information we collect and process, and why.
This website collects no information about yourself.
The support form requests your name, email address, and support query. No other information is requested, however, you have the ability to contribute further information. The information is only used to answer your support query and may be used to provide training to the wider ICT support team.
The International Oblate network is the primarily the booking system for the International Congress meeting. All of your basic personnel information collected is used to book places on the congress and subsequent trips. In addition to this, we also collect flight information and in some cases flight, passport, and visa information in order to satisfactorily make these bookings.
Who we share your data with.
Any information collected using our services (as described above) is only shared with:
- The Core Team of the International Oblate Team;
- The Registration Team of the International Oblate Team;
- Medical Officials in the event of an emergency at the International Congress in 2021;
- The Abbey of Sant’Anselmo in Rome, if they are providing accomodation for you.
Your information is not shared.
How long is your data retained?
Your personnel information is removed, unless you choose otherwise, immediately after the last congress. Information specifically relating to the congress meeting is removed 48 hours after the end of the congress, for example, visa and passport information. Your personal identifier information can be updated/removed as and when you choose.
Indefinately, until you choose to unsubscribe from our newsletter service.
How is your data kept secure?
All of your information is stored on secure, encrypted hard drives. It can only be accessed by specific members of the International Oblate Team. All accesses to the data are logged and subject to access control audits.

Your Personal Data which we house remains your data. The International Oblate Team operates out of the European Union and therefore we is subject to processing data under the GDPR, and therefore this informs your personal data rights.
